Young People’s Offer

Our SEND Offer

We offer a range of progression routes for people aged 16-25 who have Learning Disabilities and/or Special Educational Needs.

Ellingham Supported Internships:

We’re working in partnership with a number of local and national colleges to deliver Supported Internships – 12 month programmes based primarily at an employer, designed to equip participants with the skills they need for work through learning in a real workplace. This also includes the attainment of BTEC vocational qualifications.

I Can Internships:

A long term (up to two years) transition programme designed to progress participants towards work and independence at a rate more suitable for people with lower ability levels. This programme is aimed at those who may be assessed as having higher support needs than those typically participating in the currently established internship models (e.g. Project Search).

Work Experience:

We help local colleges and other LD groups to set up and support work experience placements for their learners. Participants are professionally supported in order to gain a realistic insight into the world of work with suitable local employers.

I Can Ventures:

A Day Opportunities service offering a range of modern, fun and quality activities for people with IBs, all based upon on one or more of our four pillars of empowerment: Independence, Work, Healthy Living and Inclusion.

Additional support is available for our young people to assist with:

1-2-1 Job Coaching: Work based coaching and support from qualified specialists.

Travel Training: Travel to and from jobs, work experience or training.

Accredited Training: For independent living or vocational skills.
